1. The Lifestyle!

North Vancouver is one of Canada’s most active, healthy and creative communities. Residents here value a safe, clean, naturally beautiful environment with easy access to mountains, trails, parks, beaches and more.  Arts and culture is an integral part of the well-being of the communities with a strong cultural plan, public art, theatres, galleries, museums, arts programs for all ages.

2. The Neighbourhoods

North Vancouver stretches from the mouth of the Capilano River east along Burrard Inlet to Deep Cove and up Indian Arm.  It rises up from the waters to the bases of Grouse and Seymour Mountains.  The multiple villages throughout the area provide local shopping, amenities, diverse housing types and great places to meet friends before setting out on an outdoor adventure. Check out neighbourhoods like:

  • Edgemont Village, a quaint village off upper Capilano Road,  feels like a mountain resort town at the foot of Grouse Mountain.  A quick trip up the Grouse Mountain Skyride or a hike up the Grouse Grind will get you to the Grouse Nest & ski runs.
  • Lonsdale Avenue, running north from the Seabus terminal on Burrard Inlet up and over Highway 99 to exclusive neighbourhoods of view homes overlooking the Vancouver panorama.  Been told it looks like a pirates chest of jewels and gold…not kidding!

9. Dog Friendly

Is North Vancouver dog friendly? Well, just ask any one of the multitude of dogs you see out with their owners walking, hiking, snowshoeing, having a beer …. or coffee and I think you will hear a resounding YES!  Leash and poop scoop laws apply in all areas but the dogs don’t mind, there is enough to keep them busy and happy all day long. Check out: Vancouver North Shore Dog Hikes.

10. Housing

Our favourite topic! As North Vancouver is very attractive to families the market is drive by the ‘move up’ buyer wanting to move from condo living to single family homes as their families grow. Single family homes starting at just under $2 million are hot commodities and that is expected to continue through 2022.

The condo market is driven by first time home buyers and downsizers looking to simplify their lives now that the nest is empty. Average price for a condo is $675, 000 and new townhomes are topping the scale at about $1,000,000.

2022 will remain an active year despite inventory challenges and interest rate increases in all sectors. If you would like more information on the housing market in North Vancouver you can give us a call or fill in the Contact Us form and we will be back to you in a flash.
