Location

History

Moodyville was formed as a company town, built around the huge sawmill. The mill began in 1862 at Burrard Inlet. For decades this mill produced a great amount of lumber, propelling the success of the surrounding community. For its time, it was an advanced development. It even was the first community north of San Francisco to get electricity – this led to an immense amount of local pride. It was also known for its vibrant and multicultural population. For families, or those planning to have one, there is the great appeal of excellent schools. There are two elementary schools and a private Christian school. All have great reputations. For higher education, Capilano University is just a short drive away.
